And Seasonal British Flowers for September 2023
Attending a wedding fair is an exciting time, and this month I went with a different purpose in mind: to exhibit my own work!
This month’s wedding was an Alice in Wonderland theme, with prosecco in tea cups, and plenty of cake! I had the best day networking with potential customers and other wedding suppliers – always a bonus as we share stories, amazing tips, and sometimes work together in the future as well.
If you are just starting out on your wedding planning journey and delving into the wonderful world of wedding fairs, perhaps you are wondering where to start… it can feel a tad overwhelming when you walk into a huge space filled with chatty suppliers, lots of visuals, and tempting freebies. But here are a few tips:
A visual feast
Wedding fairs are like walking into your Pinterest board, absorb it all and enjoy wandering through all of the ideas – you may find it helpful to go with an idea of the vibe you want, so you can cherry pick the stalls you stop at, but be open to new ideas!
Friendly faces everywhere
Everyone is there to grab your attention, and the suppliers will approach you for a chat – instead of shying away, embrace it, ask all those questions, be prepared to talk and best of all, enjoy those freebies!

Fashion shows
Most fairs will put on a catwalk of wedding attire, how often do you get to go to a fashion show? Now is your time to sit down and enjoy one! Relax for half an hour while the latest trends are paraded in front of you – you might be surprised at what catches your eye.
Exclusive deals
To draw potential customers in, suppliers often out on a deal for wedding fair attendees which could save you a good chunk of money. It’s worth going just to grab these offers, even if you decide not to use them later down the line.
Planning tools
Fairs often offer out their own advice around making planning your wedding easier, it’s also a great place to ask those questions you may have been struggling to find answers to on Google. In person, real life, chats with people in the industry is invaluable to making the planning plain sailing up to your big day!
Attending a wedding fair is like stepping into a world of wedding magic. It’s a place where dreams are crafted and you can find the perfect team to turn your vision into reality. So, grab your partner, your notebook, and your comfortable shoes, and get ready to embark on this fantastic wedding planning journey!
