Wedding Trends To Look Out For In 2024

As I write this it is the 4th January, so first of all – a huge Happy New Year to everyone reading! And to all of my 2024 Brides and Grooms, what an incredibly exciting year you have coming up! I cannot wait, I am as ecstatic as you are, this year is going to be fab.
Lets jump straight to it….

More and more I am seeing couples elongate their celebrations over a long weekend, really savouring the best party of their lives. Setting up can be just as fun as the rest of your event, so kick start your weekend by gathering your wedding party together to decorate your venue; enjoy an intimate marriage ceremony with your closest friends and family; then go out all out the next day with the merrymaking.

Just down the road from me is The Gathering Barn who has encompassed this to a T, offering full weekend hire together with separate accommodation for both sides of the wedding party, all the facilities you could need to be more than comfortable for the weekend with all of your guests, as well as being centred in the stunning secluded Wiltshire countryside – perfection.

Flowers are back in big way – don’t be afraid to go over the top with luxuriously glam floral arrangements spilling with beautiful blooms and lush foliage as well as more unusual items, such as fruits, for that opulent feel. Out of the ordinary wedding flowers are being embraced to give big impact to a couple’s wedding day, boasting elegance and romance.

Showstopper wedding cakes are pieces of art, but there’s often loads left over at the end of night. Why not skip pudding and instead slice the cake for guests to help themselves to throughout the evening celebrations?

This one has been around for a little while, but it’s still big! Don’t stifle your style trying to find the dress that encompasses everything you want in one outfit – have two! (Or three). No more worries that your dress will go out of style, show off your personality with different versions of yourself – and short is in, what could be more perfect for partying the night away?

Every couple I’ve spoken to recently has specified that local is top of their priorities. Eco-friendly weddings all the rage with couples being more conscious about the environment than ever. You can make your wedding more eco-friendly by choosing a florist who uses British flowers, a stationer who’s paper is sustainably sourced or recycled, attire woven from responsibly grown cotton that follows fair trading standards, the list goes on.

Infuse your wedding with your unique personality by incorporating items that reflect you as a couple and all the things you love. And take it a step further – add personal branding and custom monograms from stationary items to napkins to make your wedding a true reflection of your love story.

And my tip? Colour! It is all about bold, beautiful colours this year.
