So, wondering whether a wedding florist is worth it are you? It can’t be that hard right – just chuck a couple stems in a jam jar and you’re good to go! Well, here’s 5 good reasons why I agree with you (maybe… just for fun.)
1. Budget? Why do you ask?

Who needs to have those suspicious thoughts lurking about why a florist might be asking for your budget? Surely it’s so they can get every penny out of you. See the word “wedding” and they add on a couple of zero’s, or something like that. Nah, you can save yourself a ton of cash by popping down to the supermarket and picking up a couple bunches of roses the day before at a fraction of the price.
It has nothing to do with the fact that they spend hours planning the perfect flowers for you; getting up at the crack of dawn to be the first in the market door for the most beautiful blooms you simply can’t get at the supermarket; or that they end up a hot sweaty mess the morning of your wedding to ensure everything is arranged and looking perfect in time for your arrival. Which leads me onto….
2. You thrive working under pressure (a.k.a. in a mad rush)

You’ve put together the rest of your wedding, so what’s one more thing in the mix? Along with that last minute decorating the day before, just get your mum in and between you you’ll knock those flowers out in no time! What if your venue only lets you in to set up on the day of your ceremony? Shouldn’t be a problem, it only takes an hour to get ready doesn’t it? Everyone loves staying up until 2am to frantically get those boutonnieres assembled (who knew they were so fiddly?) and your bouquet doesn’t look quite how you envisioned but it’s too late now! It’ll do. Hopefully the make up will cover up how tired you look on the day. Pffft to all those couples who went for the stress free run up to the big day.
3. Weddings aren’t stressful enough, add some more!

“Will my wedding flowers survive the night?” The suspense is killing me!
We could all do with some more worry leading up to the big day, obviously. How do I know how many flowers to buy? How do I get them from my house to the venue? What if they wilt? Why did they look so bad in my photographs? That’s not how I remember them looking!
4. Spare time is overrated
I don’t know about you but I just hate having spare time – instead, I like to fill it with HOURS of scanning Pinterest for wedding flower ideas, how-to videos, and quick floristry tips. I am all for these, (genuinely), especially for the sake of saving a few hundred quid, you and your future spouse don’t need to spend time together leading up to your big day – you’ll have a lifetime together afterwards (by which time you’ll be such a pro you’ll start your own wedding floristry business).
5. You want to get up bright and early the following day to pack up all those flowers

There’s nothing like dragging your behind out of bed at 8am to pack up before the venue cut off time. Never mind if you’re hung over, or doubly tired due to pulling that all-nighter the night before your wedding getting those flowers arranged. Now you have to clear them away, unsure of what to do with all the left over stems and dozens of jars – begging straggling guests to take them home! Gosh it feels like waste chucking these in the bin. What do florists do?? (FYI I take any good ones to my local care home and the petals on the rest get dried for confetti, and stems/leaves get composted). It’s all part of the event though, so you’ll enjoy it.
