THSFD Wedding Flower Brochure

Hello!
I’m Esme, and I am absolutely thrilled to have you here!

I am a creative soul who has many hobbies (my husband once said my hobby was collecting hobbies). And then, back in 2017, I attended a talk by a florist called Coral Gardener (yes, really), and I was instantly struck down with the floral love bug – I’ve never looked back.

Flowers are immensely good for us on so many levels – they are proven to enhance our mood, literally good for the soul, they make exquisite decorations, they have their own language, and they can even be added to a delicious dish (or, my favourite, a cake).

You’re here because you’re planning the first day of the rest of your lives and your flowers are setting the scene, not just to look pretty and match the colour palette, but to let your love story bloom, literally!

And I’m here, excited to delve into your ideas and transform your personality into a magical setting that brings all the tingly feelings and those prickles behind the eyes as your wedding unfolds before you.

Then, for the encore, I take the absolute best bits of your day and allow that magic to continue forever in a bespoke work of art with floral preservation.

I live in a pretty little town called Bruton, on the edge of rural Somerset, with my husband (often seen working with me), daughter (flower tester), and Jack Russell – Bronson. I love hiking, ballet and tap dancing, and will never be found without a cup of tea in my hand.

I want to create the floral designs and (or) flower frames for your wedding across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Bath and Bristol, and right up into the Cotswolds.

So, let’s pop the kettle on and start planning your wedding flowers – I can’t wait!

“Esme did a truly wonderful job with our wedding flowers, we couldn’t have been happier with how they all looked! How do I book?

After our initial, complimentary, consultation, I will send you your personalised proposal of which you just need to pay your deposit of 20% – you’ll recieve an invoice for this once you have confirmed you’d like to go ahead.

Can I choose the flowers I want?

Yes, to an extent. I work seasonally with flowers that are blooming on the day of your wedding. I have a pretty good idea of what will be available for your wedding when we have our consultation and will include these in your proposal. Spring to late summer weddings have a huge range of flowers available and if you have your heart set on something specific that I know won’t be in season, I will suggest alternatives that look incredibly similar.

Have you worked at my venue before?

I work at allll venues across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Bath and Bristol, and even up into the Cotswolds. I am always happy and confident to work at venues for a first time (let’s face it, there’s a first time for everything and everywhere) and, if I haven’t worked at your venue before, I will scout it out and make friends with the venue owners/wedding coordinators there well ahead of your big day to ensure everything goes off without a hitch (so to speak). In other words, don’t let the perfect florist get away just because they haven’t worked at your venue before.

Can you reuse the flowers at the reception?

Yes! I’m all over moving and reusing (plus, it gives me an excuse to hang around and immerse myself in your incredible day, I love this bit).

What if I’m not completely sure about what I want yet?

Don’t stress, we can still have a conversation and I can still design your proposal. While I do need to have some floral arrangement ideas from you to base your quote on, I am pretty flexible. The main thing here to for you to get a feel for my design style, working procecess, if you like me, and if you like my prices – we will catch up again around 3 month’s before your wedding to finalise your wedding flowers and you are free to completely change your mind on absolutely everything at this stage if you so wish. It really is that flexible (lots of people change their minds, you won’t be the only one). All I ask is that you do not reduce your original quote by more than 20%, and this is only because I am a small business owner who needs to protect my income – I have a house, a family, and a life to pay for just like everyone else.

Not gonna lie… flowers are more expensive than I thought…

It’s true, flowers are kinda pricey. I get it, it feels like a big investment and the information out there on the internet can be wildly indecisive and misleading. The truth is, flowers do cost a lot – I pay anything from £1 – £5 per stem (plus, hydrangeas can be even more), and I also pay extra for sumptuously silky ribbons that really are a cut above cheap ployester. It can cost me £70+ to put together your bouquet, and that’s before I have added my own mark up to cover my labour costs and business expenses. Flowering up a wedding is incredibly labour intensive and the know-how to ensure your flowers last all day (all week in fact, my couples and their guests take their flowers home and enjoy long after the day itself) is truly a skill in itself. Save yourself the worry and hire an expert – you won’t regret it. If your budget is smaller then we can work together to ensure that, while you may have less flowers overall, the arrangements you do have provide maximum impact and you won’t feel like you are missing out or cutting back at all. I promise.

What I won’t do though, is cut my prices – my team and I need to be paid fairly to provide the best service possible for you.

You are going to recieve an email or message from me confirming my availability and my calendar to choose the time you want to chat flowers. All your next steps will be detailed there – keep an eye on your junk box – I can’t wait to chat soon!

Nina and Alex

“We just wanted to reach out and say a huge thank you for the lovely bouquet preservation you made for us! It’s so beautiful, we love it and can’t wait to hang it up with the rest of our wedding memories!”

  1. Booking and securing your date
  2. Collection of your flowers the day after your wedding
  3. The drying process
  4. The design stage
  5. The final piece delivered to your door
How long does the process take?

Typically 4-6 months. It can take longer over the summer months simply because it is wedding season and I will be flowering up weddings as well as taking more bouquets to preserve. I will send you messages at regular intervals to update you as we go so you always know how your flowers are doing.

Can I book after my wedding? I didn’t know I wanted this!

Honestly, this is so common! I get requests in the few days leading up to, or the few days after the wedding all the time. If I have availability I woud still love to preserve your flowers, even if your wedding was a few days ago – I can work miracles with old flowers. I do get booked up though so I do advise booking as early as possible. Also, collection of your flowers is strictly subject to advance booking and I cannot accomodate collecting flowers at the last minute. Delivering your flowers yourself does not reduce the price of your frame either I’m afraid, it’s simply a free service I include with advance bookings.

Can you press other flowers? (Not wedding flowers)

Absolutely! Any and all flowers, the process is the same, the prices are the same.

What happens if the flowers don’t preserve well? Will my white flowers preserve well?

I’ve not had an instance where flowers haven’t preserved well yet so I guess I will have to let you know if it happens… I probably won’t be able to squeeze every flower you give me into your frame, because I’m fitting a 3D arrangement onto a 2D board, so even if a flower or two doesn’t preserve well, I will have plenty more to play with. White flowers may change colour slightly (in fact, all flowers change colour slightly, it’s just more noticeable in white flowers), but they are still beautiful, they’ll still “feel” white and there are tricks we can use to illuminate you flowers further. Don’t worry about it, don’t let it put you off!

Do you offer international shipping?

No. This is a delicate piece of work, your flowers are fragile and the frame is made with glass – my preference is to hand deliver your frame, which is included within the price up to 40 miles of my studio in Bruton (BA10). Beyond this there is either a small additional charge or you can arrange to meet me half way, or collect your frame from my studio – it’s well worth it knowing your frame has been cared for during the journey.

Can I include ribbons, charms, or other keepsakes in my frame?

Absolutely, you can include anything you like as long as it fits – I’ve even included parts of wedding dresses.

Do I have to have one of your sizes listed above?

Not at all! You can have any size and shape you desire, so if you want to go long and thin to have pride of place across the landing, then go for it. Bespoke sizing is more than welcome, I’ll just need to provide you a personalised quote – you simply need to ask.

You are going to recieve an email or message from me confirming my availability and my calendar to choose the time you want to chat flower preservation. All your next steps will be detailed there – keep an eye on your junk box – I can’t wait to chat soon!
